appearance
Angelika is fairly unremarkable in appearance, striking only in the sense that her resting bitch face expression is often sharp and severe. She is on the shorter end but carries herself in such a way that she tends to come off imposing regardless. Often wearing black and covered from head to toe, hiding her voluptuous figure, she likes to pull her hair away from her face when she's working but lets it down from time to time out of laziness.

β£ Angelika hails from a fantasy world where supernatural creatures are the norm. She is one of many who have been orphaned by one, joining the Enclave from a very young age. It is one of many organizations that attempt to "handle" the supernatural, noted for its more pacifist directive. Specifically, Angelika is a Priestess; a subset of women who specialize in assisting earth-bound souls into the afterlife.
β£ Helping a soul pass on requires a lot of talking and negotiating with said soul; the ideal outcome is she is able to help them pass of their own volition. However, some souls can prove particularly difficult (especially those that have no way of even coming to terms with or achieving what keeps them bound to the earth in the first place); in these cases, other options may be sought out. While the Enclave are run largely on pacifist principles, certain... forceful approaches can be undertaken, if a Priestess were quiet enough about it.
β£ Angelika's powers come from her dedication to her Oath, which is really just an in-world explanation for "magic" that are conjured from the force of will. To put it simply, anyone can use magic if they were determined enough, and the stronger a person's will the stronger their magic can become. But raw magic is more often dangerous for the user, so many do not practice unless they undertake highly disciplined learning. Magic cannot manifest for users who do not actively practice, so "accidents" are very rare.
β£ Note, none of Angelika's powers or affiliations has anything at all to do with a religion... It's just the #vibes.
β£ While she is a dedicated Priestess and mainly sticks to matters of the dead, she will on occasion dabble in other jurisdictions, wherever her talents and help might be needed.
β£ Noted for having a velvety sort of voice, she moonlights as a phone sex operator because working for a non-profit doesn't pay the bills.
β£ She has an awful temper, though it takes effort to get her to that point. She also has a terrible sweet tooth and has a bad habit of stress-eating.
β£ Because most of her time is spent among the dead, and she has a personal preference to stay home if she had the choice, she can be a little out of touch with the rest of the world and so doesn't always conduct herself as a model member of society. Her morals are also a little skewed, because while she believes it is a soul's choice to pass or remain, she is not above lying or manipulating a soul in order to encourage the desired outcome of passing. Between the two, Angelika believes finding that peace is far more beneficial than being stuck in an in-between.
β£ Though loyal and dependable, Angelika struggles with the idea of commitment. She craves it for herself, but having never had anyone consistent but the other Priestesses in her life keeps her as afraid as she is selfish. The very nature of her occupation also reminds her too often of the ephemerality of life, scaring her from making connections she yearns for, wanting neither to be the one who leaves and the one who is left behind. As such, she struggles with being open and showing vulnerability, defaulting to keeping other people at arm's length. (It should be noted this doesn't keep her from being physical with someone; she is too weak to resist all forms of connection.)
